If you are looking for testosterone (or any performance enhancing drug/steroid), then Bangkok will offer what you are looking for.
Not only is gear inexpensive, there are lots of TRT clinics around which will happily get you started on Testosterone Therapy the same day you walk in.
Here’s my story …
Low Testosterone Symptoms
I was feeling a bit lethargic, found that focus & concentration levels had steadily dropped over the last few years, plus I didn’t see any measurable progress in the gym.
That alone wasn’t enough evidence to just jump on Testosterone Replacement Therapy.
After all, symptoms alone can often be misleading – that’s why a blood test to check testosterone levels (and other hormones) is absolutely critical.
TRT Clinic in Bangkok
In most Western countries, I would have probably needed to see dozens of doctors and gone through an extensive process to even qualify for any sort of hormone treatment.
Chances are, I would have never qualified anyway because the range for testosterone levels is so wide that your T needs to be almost zero to be diagnosed with low testosterone.
In Bangkok, I could’ve just gone to the pharmacy, bought testosterone and started treating myself.
I know quite a few people that do testosterone injections without doctor supervision.
It’s quite tempting because most pharmacies (the ones I know) don’t ask for a prescription and a month’s worth of supply costs less than 1000 Thai Baht.
I personally didn’t want to take the risk as there are quite a few things that could irreversibly go wrong.
That’s why I decided to pay a bit more and go through a TRT clinic in Bangkok.
Testosterone Blood Test Bangkok
You don’t need a doctor (or clinic) to get a blood test done in Bangkok. However, it makes sense to consult a TRT clinic because not only will you get a blood test – you also have an expert interpret results.
For example, in prior years, I did a comprehensive blood test at Bangkok RIA Labs which cost around 6,000 Thai Baht.
At a TRT clinic in Bangkok, the test was 8,000 Baht but it allowed me to talk to a doctor and get started with treatment as well.
For someone with extensive experience using testosterone, perhaps cutting costs and doing it all yourself makes sense.
Anyway, I did my blood test at the clinic. These were the results …
In short, the blood test did confirm my suspicion: Low Testosterone.
NOTE: Low testosterone isn’t an issue per se – as long as you don’t have any side effects.
Testosterone Replacement Therapy Bangkok
Now that I had certainty that my symptoms were indeed linked to low testosterone, the question was what do I do about raising levels.
When it comes to raising testosterone, there are essentially 2 options:
- Raising your natural production
- Injecting Testosterone
Both come with pros and cons, however, it makes logical sense to first try raising your natural production before taking a high(er) risk approach and injecting exogenous hormones.
After going over my blood work with the doctor, we decided to start with the following protocol.
On top, you see the initial protocol; the compounds on the bottom were added gradually afterwards.
Costs of the initial treatment (the 4 compounds on top) was 8,000 Baht per month.
Who Is TRT for?
My personal opinion is that if you notice that your quality of life suffers, you should consider all options. Talk to doctor and see what options are available.
Had I not been in Thailand already, I would’ve probably gone there just so I could speed up the process.
You can literally get started within one day whereas TRT outside of Thailand is
- more expensive and
- more complicated.
Misconception Testosterone in Bangkok
Just because something is easy to obtain, doesn’t mean it’s over the counter. If you plan on going to a Bangkok pharmacy to get Testosterone Depot, Proviron, HCG, etc. – keep in mind that these are prescription-only drugs.
‘Nobody cares … this is Thailand.’
OK, if you’re willing to take the risk. Fine. I’d rather invest a few Baht and get a prescription.
Knowing what I know now, these would be the steps I would take going from ‘I think I have Low T‘ to actually doing something about it.
Testosterone Costs Bangkok
Generally-speaking which drugs/compound are available in Thailand (either via clinic or pharmacy)? How much does TRT costs in Thailand?
I say either or because with a prescription, you get the drugs directly from the clinic – meaning you don’t have to go to the pharmacy.
That’s really the only way of knowing for sure what you take is pharmaceutical grade.
These are the ones I have either used myself or seen at the pharmacy.
- Testosterone Enanthate (3400 Baht; 20 ampules á 250ml)
- Bayer Privoron
- Aromasin (Exemestane)
- Arimidex (Anastrozole)
- Clomid (Clomifene)
- Tamoxifen
- hCG (Human chorionic gonadotropin – no to be confused with HGH)
- Cialis (4000 Baht at pharmacy; generic Cialis ‘Apcalis’ 400)
Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) is a complex topic that goes beyond the scope of a single article.
If you’d like to find out more, I put together a 23 minute video about my experience. You can find it in the Thailand Guide Members area.
Testosterone Replacement Therapy Pattaya
In regards to testosterone injections in Pattaya (whether via one of the clinics or self medication), everything I’ve stated above still applies.
The costs of Testosterone in Thailand are the same regardless of whether you are in Bangkok or Pattaya.
If you are looking for Testosterone or any type of steroid or medication in Phuket, you will however pay a higher price.
