Soapy Massages are fun and I recommend every man tries them at least once (just for the sake of the experience).
Here’s my experience going to a Soapy Massage in Bangkok. – If you want something slightly different, the Nuru Massage is also an option.
What Is A Soapy Massage?
These types of massages are very popular in Thailand, particularly Pattaya & Bangkok (not really in Phuket). Here’s what entering a soapy massage parlor typically looks like.
Prior to entering the massage parlor, you might see pictures of the massage girls outside.
This isn’t the case at every establishment, but Sabai Dee Body Massage in Pattaya (pic below) has them, for example.
You also get an idea of what the rooms look like.
1. Enter Massage Parlor
If this is your first time visiting a massage parlor, you might be a bit nervous not knowing what to expect.
You might even stand outside unsure if you should go in, particularly if you’re a newbie when it comes to P4P.
If that’s the case, just push yourself. Step inside – you won’t regret it!
As you walk in, you are greeted by the ‘guy in charge’ (called papasan).
He will escort you to the seating area. If you have any questions, he will be there for you. NOTE: There is no entrance or cover fee at massage parlors!
2. Look At Girls / Have A Drink (Optional)
You are guided to a seating area from which you can look at all the girls. You can order a drink, but don’t have to.
If you go during early afternoon and there aren’t many (any) other customers around, it can be a bit intimidating.
You are the only guy sitting there with dozens of girls looking at you, some trying to get your attention.
Take your time and relax. You don’t want to rush into choosing a girl only to regret that decision later on (see Soapy Massage Tips below).
The setup is slightly different in every soapy massage parlor. More often than not, the girls are sitting behind a glass wall (also called ‘the fishbowl’).
Each girl has a number; you like a girl, you tell the number of that girl to the guy in charge.
2.1 No Girl You Like … Can You Just Leave?
Unfortunately, no.
You’ve entered the massage parlor, now you are obliged to pay for a girl. If you don’t, you will be taken to a room at the back of the building and beaten up.
JOKING! 😀
I’m just kidding, of course. You can go to any massage place, have a look and leave if you don’t find a girl you like. (By the way, the same applies to Go Go Bars)
3. Pay for Soapy Massage
Now that you’ve decided on a girl, it’s time to pay the fee. You will be guided to the reception at which you typically pay between 2000-3000 Thai Baht for the soapy massage.
The lady you’ve chosen will be given a towel and condoms; then she will take you by the arm and escort you to a private room (sometimes there are different rooms to choose from).
4. Inside The Room …
Once you’re inside the room, both of you will get naked. The Thai massage lady will prepare the bathtub.
Before the massage takes place, she will clean you and take a shower or bath herself.
Then, the both of you move on to the air mattress (or bed) on which the soapy massage is performed.
The massage lady will use her body (and oil) to slide up and down on your body – in short, she massages you with her body, boobs, etc.
The happy ending follows after the Soapy Massage. Happy Ending means sex, but if you prefer a handjob or blowjob only, that’s also possible.
Both of you shower again.

If you want the best experience possible, here are a few tips to increase the odds of that happening.
Many Thailand blogs will tell you to pick a less attractive girl because those tend to provide better service than the stunners.
Is this a smart thing to do?
Know yourself … are you a guy that cares about looks or the actual service? Personally, I can’t picture anything worse than a girl that is really into it, providing great service … except that she doesn’t turn me on that much.
Perhaps her face isn’t top-notch, or she has a little bit of a belly fat or tiny/saggy tits.
I’d much prefer to pick a really hottie, with great body (ideally big tits) – even if service isn’t the best.
Secondly, take your time.
Don’t rush things. That’s particularly important if you’re a ‘looks guy’ like myself. Take a close look at the girls.
Notice any belly fat? Perhaps the girl is using a push up bra? Does the girl of your choice really look THAT nice upon close inspection?
If you take a few minutes, you can easily spot such things.
Lastly, you can ask the papasan about the English-speaking ability of the girl of your choice. If she speaks ZERO English, I’d pick another girl …
Tipping at a Soapy Massage is not required. It’s not even standard to tip – keep this in mind in case anyone (particularly the papasan) asks you for a tip for helping you ‘choose’ a girl.
Pattaya Soapy Massages vs Nuru Massage
In my opinion, these two types of happy ending massages are very similar in terms of costs and the overall experience.
The Nuru Massage is performed with a special type of lotion (instead of an oil) made from seaweed.
It’s an erotic massage technique originally from Japan that became popular in Thailand (and all over the world).
I’d say try both, so you know which one you prefer. If I had to choose between these two massages, I’d opt to get a Nuru Massage in Pattaya.
